The Golden Apple

It was a fine day in Eden

Eve walked around the center of the garden

Tempted as she saw the divine fruit

“Oh dear, how I always long for thee”

So she picked some and ate it with Adam

 

I wonder how they led their lives before they tasted

The far-fetched golden apple

The forbidden fruit of wisdom and knowledge

 

Did they ever see the world in destruction?

Did they ever worry about their lives?

Did they ever feel sad and cry alone?

 

It was a fine day in Eden

The Lord visited them in the afternoon

To find them hiding among the trees

And fell under the trap of serpent

That they shall leave the Garden of Eden

 

I wonder how our lives will be if they never ate

Will there be hunger, droughts and children dying?

Will there be wars between human beings?

Will there be broken hearts and broken homes?
